Ede Dafenone Faces Backlash As Trainees Recount Ordeal
WARRI — Concerns are mounting in Delta Central as Senator Ede Dafenone faces strong backlash from constituents who recently participated in a scaffolding training program in Warri.
Information gathered by this platform indicates that the three-week training program turned sour when participants were handed a sum of ₦20,000 at the conclusion of the exercise.
Sources familiar with the development revealed that the trainees expressed deep anger and disappointment over the amount.
They disclose many had traveled from various distant communities across the senatorial district and incurred high transportation and other sundry expenses over the three-week period, rendering the ₦20,000 insufficient to cover their logistics.
While some insiders claimed the money was strictly intended to offset transport fares, independent sources confirmed that the ₦20,000 was meant to cover both transport and all other sundry expenses incurred during the program.
However, a source close to Senator Dafenone defended the initiative, stating that the primary objective of the program was knowledge acquisition and skill development.
The source expressed concern over the trainees’ focus on monetary “starter packs” rather than the value of the technical expertise gained.
Efforts to reach Senator Dafenone for an official statement prior to publication were unsuccessful.
Nonetheless, corroborated accounts suggest that no further financial mobilization or starter kits were planned by the lawmaker’s team, on the grounds that the technical knowledge provided was unquantifiable.
