Dramatic moment Peller interrupts registry wedding after hearing five-year jail term for bigamy

A dramatic moment unfolded at the registry as Peller interrupted his wedding proceedings after the acting registrar mentioned a five-year prison sentence for bigamy.
The incident happened while the registrar was explaining the legal rules guiding marriage before officially joining Peller and his partner, Jarvis, together.
Peller questions prison sentence during ceremony
During the proceedings, the acting registrar warned the couple that anyone who went against the rules could be guilty of bigamy, an offence punishable by a minimum of five years imprisonment without an option of fine.
The warning caught Peller’s attention as he laughed and paused the proceedings to ask why prison was being mentioned during a marriage ceremony.

Acting Registrar: “In a competent court of jurisdiction, if any of you go against the rules, he or she is guilty of an offence called bigamy and is punishable by an offence of minimum of five years imprisonment with no option of fine.

Jarvis: “Yes ma”
Peller: “Wait joor. Sorry ma, I get question. Na love o, why five years in prison for marriage? How prison take enter marriage?

Jarvis: “Yes, ma’am.”
Peller: “Yes”
