2026 World Cup: Argentina stars risk FIFA sanctions as probe begins
Argentina are the subject of a FIFA disciplinary proceedings over potential breaches of multiple laws during the 2026 World Cup.
These include the use of discriminatory chants and gestures, team misconduct, security and protocol failures and inappropriate messages being displayed.
Albiceleste players held up a banner that read ‘The Falklands are Argentine’, after they beat England 2-1 in the semi-final.

After they lost 1-0 to Spain in the final, some Argentina players were involved in a bust-up.
