“How did prison enter this love?” — Peller asks as court registrar mentions 5-year prison term

Popular TikToker Peller sparked laughter during his court wedding after reacting to a warning from the marriage registrar about the legal consequences of violating marriage vows.
The light-hearted exchange happened while the registrar explained the legal obligations attached to marriages conducted under the Marriage Act.
The official warned the couple that committing bigamy is a criminal offence punishable by a minimum of five years’ imprisonment without the option of a fine.
Peller reacts to prison warning
Addressing the couple, the registrar said, “In a competent court of jurisdiction, if any of you go against the rules, he or she is guilty of an offense called bigamy.
And it’s a punishable offense of minimum of 5 years imprisonment with no option of fine. Any bed? Should I proceed, or you want to go and rethink?”
Clearly surprised by the statement, Peller interrupted the proceedings and asked, “Wait, wait… I get question. For marriage?”
After the registrar repeated that the punishment could be five years in prison, the TikToker responded humorously, “For marriage? We will not break it, but ah, I don’t know how prison enter this love… We are good.”
His unexpected reaction drew laughter from those present at the ceremony.
Couple proceeds with wedding vows
Following the brief exchange, the wedding ceremony continued as the registrar guided Peller through the marriage vows.
The registrar instructed him to repeat, “Forsaking all other women. Clinging to you only. Till d+ath do us part.”
The humorous moment has since gone viral on social media, with many Nigerians sharing the clip and reacting to Peller’s candid response during the legal marriage ceremony.
