El-Rufai Is Currently In Custody, They Stated That A Senior Govt Worker Must Sign His Bail- Sanusi
The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has raised concerns over the bail conditions imposed on former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, describing them as unusually stringent and difficult to meet.
According to a report by The Cable on Thursday, June 18, 2026, speaking on the ongoing fraud case involving El-Rufai, Sanusi noted that although the former governor had been granted bail, the conditions attached to his release had complicated efforts to secure his freedom.
The Emir specifically pointed to the nature of the conditions reportedly set by the court, stating that an emir and a senior government official were required to stand as sureties for El-Rufai.
