The Osun Amotekun Corps has arrested five suspects over alleged theft, conspiracy, shop burglary and fraud in different locations across the state.

The suspects were identified as 30-year-old Adebisi Olalere; 33-year-old Isiaka Yinusa; 30-year-old Farika Azeez; 30-year-old Daniel Moses and 30-year-old Monday Lawrence.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Corps’ Public Relations Officer, CSA Yusuf Idowu Abass, the suspects were arrested on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, following complaints about their alleged activities.

The statement said Corps Commander, Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, said operatives acted on the complaints and apprehended the suspects at different locations, including their alleged hideouts and scenes of reported offences.

“Olalere, a herbalist from Gbongan, was arrested over allegations that he conspired with armed robbers and supplied them with traditional charms intended to assist their criminal activities.

“He was reportedly arrested alongside Yinusa, also from Gbongan, who was apprehended in connection with an alleged shop burglary in the town.

“Yinusa is a former convict who had previously served a prison sentence for motorcycle theft. Both men allegedly admitted involvement in the offences during preliminary investigations,” the statement disclosed.

In a separate incident, Azeez, from Modakeke, was arrested over the alleged theft of a gas cylinder and other items in the community.

The Corps said Azeez had previously been convicted of a similar offence and had served a jail term.

He allegedly admitted to the latest incident during interrogation.

“Moses and Lawrence, both 30-year-old men from Benue State residing in Ipinrindo, Atakumosa East Local Government Area, were arrested over the alleged theft of iron rods from the local government secretariat.

“Moses allegedly admitted participating in the theft and said the stolen iron rods, estimated to be worth between N50,000 and N100,000, were sold to scrap dealers for between N4,000 and N5,000,” the statement added.

Omoyele said preliminary investigations had produced admissions from some of the suspects, while some had reportedly identified other individuals allegedly connected with the incidents.

The Corps commander urged residents to provide credible and timely information to security agencies to help prevent crime and address potential security threats across Osun State.

“The five suspects have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and possible prosecution,” the statement added.
