KADGIS warns public against unauthorised land sales in six Kaduna police barracks

The Kaduna Geographic Information Service, KADGIS, has warned members of the public against purchasing plots of land in six police barracks across Kaduna State, declaring that it has not approved any land layout or sale by Aftech Industries Limited in the affected locations.
In a public notice signed by the Director-General of KADGIS, Bashir Garba Ibrahim, dated October 21, 2026, and referenced KADGIS/OFF/585/VOL. I, the agency said it had neither authorised nor approved the company to create, design, subdivide or develop any land layout within police barracks in the state.
The affected locations are Gabasawa Barracks, Blocks A and B; Mounted Troops Barracks; SPO’s Quarters along College Road; Mounted Troops Barracks in Kabala; and MTD Barracks in Sabon-Gari.
KADGIS said it had not entered into any partnership with Aftech Industries Limited or granted the company permission to allocate or sell plots within the affected barracks.
“For the avoidance of doubt, KADGIS has not entered into any partnership or granted any approval to Aftech Industries Limited to undertake land layout creation or land sales within the affected Police Barracks,” the notice stated.
The agency cautioned that any purported partnership, allocation or sale of land in the locations should not be interpreted as having its approval or endorsement.
“Members of the public are therefore strongly advised not to purchase or make payments for any plots within the affected Police Barracks without first confirming the legal status of the property and the validity of the title with KADGIS,” it said.
The agency further warned that letters, agreements, receipts or other documents presented in connection with such transactions do not, on their own, constitute proof of a valid Kaduna State land title or KADGIS approval.
It added that anyone who purchases land without proper verification does so at their own risk, stressing that the agency would not be liable for losses, disputes or claims arising from such transactions.
“The general public is urged to exercise due diligence and verify all land titles with KADGIS before entering into any land transaction,” the notice added.
