Governor Otti, Westbrook, and Karl Kani to Be Honored at 5th Afro Awards in Los Angeles

Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, will be honored at the 5th Afro Awards in Los Angeles, United States, on Saturday, 10 October 2026.

He will share the stage with American singer Adina Howard, fashion designer Karl Kani, NBA star Russell Westbrook, and Tyrone DuBose, among other global names.

The founder and president of the Afro Awards, Taiwo Oduala, said the event will bring together leaders from Africa, the United States, the United Kingdom, and beyond. They come from entertainment, business, politics, and culture.

The awards celebrate excellence, leadership, creativity, and service to society. For Nigeria, Governor Otti’s inclusion puts Abia State and Nigerian public leadership before an international audience.

Other honourees include Oumie Garba Fox, Esther Oluwafunmilayo Komolafe, Oumarou Idrissa, and Angelica Nwanbu. The event will be hosted by Shang Forbes.

The Afro Awards has a strong record of drawing big names. Past honourees and guests include:

Organisers say the list shows the wide mix of people and institutions the awards honor, from politicians and business leaders to entertainers, athletes, filmmakers, and fashion figures. All of them, they say, are shaping Africa’s image and influence around the world.
