“Family is not blood” — Man reveals what his brother he spent £34,000 to bring to UK did

A man has taken to social media to express his frustration with his younger brother, whom he said he spent more than £34,000 sending to the United Kingdom for his education.

According to the X (formerly Twitter) user, he paid his brother’s school fees and allowed him to live in his house for free, with his food and accommodation fully covered.

He said his brother eventually completed his Master’s programme, moved out, secured employment and later opened an eight-chair barbing salon in London.

‘He has never bought a loaf of bread for my sons’

The man said that despite the financial support he provided, his brother had never bought even a loaf of bread for his children.

He also claimed that his brother secretly built a house in Nigeria without informing him and later flew his girlfriend to Spain for her birthday.

Recounting an incident that particularly upset him, the man said he once pretended to be financially broke and asked his brother for £500.

According to him, his brother replied that he had exhausted his money but had ₦1 million that he was not using.

He said he subsequently sent his naira account details to his brother but received no response for three months.

‘I have decided to be wicked’

Expressing his disappointment, the man questioned the meaning of family and said his experience had changed his attitude towards helping relatives.

“Family is not blood.

“Now that I have decided to be wicked, nobody should blame me. I have seen all sides of human wickedness.”

He said he had repeatedly told his brother and other family members that if their positions had been reversed, he would still be struggling in the village.

According to him, the most they would have done for him would have been to send $100 and expect him to be grateful.

‘I will now focus on myself and my sons’

The X user said he had spent the first half of his life helping others but had now decided to prioritise himself and his children.

“I have lived the first half of my life for others, and now I have decided to be wicked, selfish, and stingy for myself and my sons.

“Humans are terrible. Just buy a dog.”

His post has sparked reactions online, with some users sympathising with him while others questioned whether financial support should create an expectation of lifelong assistance between siblings.

The man, however, maintained that nobody should blame him if he eventually chooses to distance himself from his family.
