Arise News Drops Anthony Kila Over Alleged Academic Credentials Fraud

Arise News Channel has announced the immediate suspension of freelance political analyst Anthony Kila from its platform following allegations that he falsified his academic credentials.
The decision was disclosed in a statement issued by the channel’s Editorial Board under the title, “Investigation: Anthony Kila’s ‘Degrees’.”
According to the statement, the development followed an investigative report published by Premium Times, which raised serious questions about Kila’s academic qualifications.
Arise News explained that it contacted Kila on October 3, 2026, and presented him with the allegations, giving him an opportunity to respond.
However, the channel said Kila requested additional time to address the claims but had yet to provide a response 10 days after the initial contact.
The Editorial Board also noted that the allegations had become more serious, making it difficult for the analyst to continue contributing to the network.
“In the circumstances, we find that his contributions to The Arise News Channel is no longer tenable,” the statement said.
The channel stressed that it was unaware of the allegations when Kila appeared on its platform as a freelance political analyst.
Arise News added that credibility and integrity remain fundamental to its operations, explaining that it had taken the findings of the Premium Times investigation into consideration before reaching its decision.
Consequently, the network declared that Kila would no longer appear on any of its platforms, either immediately or in the future.
The decision takes effect immediately, according to the disclaimer signed by the Editorial Board.
Kila has featured on Arise News on several occasions, offering political analysis and commentary on national issues.
The allegations concerning his academic qualifications have now raised questions about his professional credibility. However, the claims remain allegations, and Kila had not responded to the concerns raised by Arise News as of the time of the channel’s announcement.
The development follows the publication of the Premium Times investigation, which prompted the channel to review its association with the analyst.
