US elections: Same cabal ousted Jonathan, installed Buhari, unleashed Boko Haram in Nigeria – Ex-Mayor

Former United States mayor, Mike Arnold, has alleged that the political forces behind the Democratic Party’s victories in the US midterm elections were responsible for undermining former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, unleashing Boko Haram and bringing Muhammadu Buhari to power in Nigeria.
Arnold made the allegations in a Facebook post on Wednesday while reacting to the outcome of the US midterm elections.
He claimed that the same political establishment had influenced major political developments in Nigeria, including the removal of the country from the list of Countries of Particular Concern, CPC, and the recognition of President Bola Tinubu’s government while the 2023 election results were still being contested.
The former mayor also alleged that the Democratic Party in the United States was aligned with the All Progressives Congress and had longstanding links with Nigerian businessman Gilbert Chagoury.
Expressing support for US President Donald Trump, Arnold argued that Trump had done more for Nigeria than previous American presidents.
He said although Trump’s involvement in Nigeria had been short-lived, the US president had drawn attention to the country’s challenges and taken some steps in what he considered the right direction.
Arnold, however, warned Nigerians against expecting assistance from the United States following the Democratic Party’s victories.
He alleged that the political establishment would intensify its influence over Nigeria as it consolidated power in Washington.
He wrote, “ATTN: NIGERIANS- the cabal that swept yesterday’s US midterm elections is the SAME REGIME that subverted Jonathan, unleashed Boko Haram, and thrust Buhari into power.”
He urged Nigerians to prepare for what he described as a renewed political stranglehold on the country, calling on them to fight for victory.
