Southern Ijaw Women Forum Visits Inegbegha, Plans Thank-You Tour to Gov. Diri
The Southern Ijaw Women Forum has paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Astro Soft Group, Amb. Engr. Tonbra Joseph Inegbegha, at his office in Yenagoa as part of preparations for a proposed thank-you tour to the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Douye Diri.
The delegation was led by the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Joan Gigi, alongside the Vice Chairperson of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Hon. Josephine Ekeuwe, and other prominent women leaders from the area.
During the visit, the women leaders briefed Amb. Inegbegha on their plans to appreciate Governor Diri for his administration’s developmental interventions across Southern Ijaw, with particular emphasis on the ongoing Oporoma Bridge Project, which they described as a significant infrastructure initiative with the potential to transform connectivity and economic activities in the area.
Amb. Inegbegha commended the women for their unity, peaceful disposition and commitment to grassroots development, noting that collective efforts and constructive engagement remain essential to advancing the interests of Southern Ijaw and Bayelsa State.
He pledged his support for the initiative and encouraged the women to remain united, peaceful and focused on issues that promote development and improve the wellbeing of the people.
He also expressed optimism that the proposed thank-you tour would further demonstrate the appreciation of the people of Southern Ijaw for projects and initiatives aimed at opening up the area and improving the lives of residents.
Amb. Inegbegha prayed for continued peace, progress and prosperity in Southern Ijaw and Bayelsa State, while calling for sustained cooperation among stakeholders for the overall development of the state.
