Shun anti-party activities, Plateau commissioner tells APC members

The Plateau State Commissioner for Transportation, Davou Jatau, has asked members of the All Progressives Congress in the state to shun anti-party activities, saying such actions will only weaken the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The commissioner stated this on Monday when he led a team of government appointees from the Jos South Local Government Area on a familiarisation visit to the APC wards and districts in the council area.

He urged party members to rally behind the policies and programmes of both the federal and state governments, pointing out what he described as visible achievements recorded by President Bola Tinubu and Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

The commissioner also called on party executives at ward, local government and state levels to mobilise members and ensure that internal disputes are resolved through appropriate party channels.

“Grievances should be channelled properly. The doors of the party are open for dialogue. But no one should work against the party and expect to remain a bona fide member,” he added.

“The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration is taking bold steps to reposition the economy, improve security, and restore investor confidence in Nigeria. These are difficult but necessary reforms that will secure a better future for our people,” he said.

On the state government, the Commissioner said the governor has prioritised peace-building, infrastructural development, and inclusive governance since assuming office.

“Under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Esq, Plateau is witnessing renewed efforts in restoring peace, fixing roads, improving healthcare delivery, and carrying all citizens along irrespective of tribe or religion. The massive investment in transportation, which has lessened the economic burden on residents, is second to none. This is the kind of leadership we must support and project in 2027,” he stated.

The Commissioner stressed that with the 2027 elections approaching, the APC must remain united and avoid actions that undermine the party.

“Our strength lies in our unity. The campaign has not started yet, but we think it is very important to familiarise ourselves with the wards and districts first. The campaign will soon start, but we want you to vote for every candidate of the APC from top to bottom. That is the way to go,” he stated

Stakeholders at the meeting pledged to work for the APC and towards reconciliation of aggrieved members and to embark on an aggressive membership drive across the Jos South LGA.
