The Ogun State Police Command says it has begun a manhunt for a man identified as Kola over the alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old boy.

The Police Public Relations Officer for the command, DSP Oluseyi Babasiyi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.

Babasiyi stated that the matter was reported at the Adigbe Police Division on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at about 5pm, adding that the teenager was accompanied by his parents when he made the report.

The PPRO said the teenager alleged that Kola sexually assaulted him on three occasions in January 2026 and threatened him into silence.

He said, “Following the report, he was taken to a hospital within Adigbe axis for medical examination, while detectives commenced investigation.”

Babasiyi said the police only became aware of the alleged incidents following the report made on September 8, adding that the suspect was currently at large.

He added, “The said Kola is presently at large, and CP Bode Ojajuni has directed detectives to intensify efforts to locate and arrest him on sight.”

The PPRO stated that the command was treating the allegation with urgency and sensitivity, while assuring the public of its commitment to protecting children and vulnerable persons.

He continued, “The allegation is receiving urgent, professional and sensitive investigation, while reiterating its commitment to protecting children and vulnerable persons.”

The command urged members of the public with relevant information that could assist the investigation to provide it to the police.

PUNCH Metro reported in July 2025 that the Bauchi State Police Command arrested two men for allegedly sodomising a 12-year-old boy.

The command identified the suspects as Lukman Mohammed and Musa Halilu, adding that their arrest followed a complaint by the victim’s father.
