Raphinha Fires Barcelona To 5-1 Champions League Rout Of Feyenoord

Barcelona opened their UEFA Champions League campaign in emphatic fashion on Wednesday, thrashing Feyenoord 5-1 at the Spotify Camp Nou as Brazilian forward Raphinha continued his sensational start to the season with a brace.

Raphinha wasted little time making his mark, producing a brilliant piece of individual skill to beat two Feyenoord defenders before calmly finishing to give Barcelona the lead after just three minutes.

The goal extended his remarkable scoring run, with the former Leeds United star finding the net in each of Barcelona’s first five matches of the season.

Barcelona doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute when Karim Adeyemi curled a superb 20-yard effort into the top corner.

The summer arrival from Borussia Dortmund celebrated with his trademark back-flip as the Catalan giants took a commanding 2-0 lead into the interval.

Raphinha struck again in the 57th minute, racing onto a well-timed pass before firing across the goalkeeper to make it 3-0.

The goal was his eighth of the campaign and marked the third time in Barcelona’s opening five matches that he had scored twice in a game.

Barcelona continued to dominate and Lamine Yamal added a fourth in the 77th minute with a well-executed free-kick.

Feyenoord managed to pull one back five minutes later through substitute Sem Steijn, but there was still time for Barcelona to restore their four-goal advantage.

Former Arsenal and Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus completed the rout in the 85th minute, heading home his first goal since joining Barcelona at the beginning of September.

The victory means Barcelona have scored an impressive 22 goals in their last five matches, underlining their attacking strength as they pursue a return to Champions League glory.

However, the Spanish giants were unable to keep a clean sheet, extending their wait for a shutout in the competition since April 2025.
