Halima Dangote, daughter of Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote, has opened up about her family’s private lifestyle, saying she and her siblings have never considered themselves spoilt despite growing up in a wealthy household.

Halima explained that the family prefers to maintain a low profile, particularly when interacting with the children of their father’s friends.

She said, “We are not spoilt. Unlike when we meet our father’s friends’ kids, we stay quiet and don’t say who we are.”

The businesswoman said life was more comfortable before the family became widely recognised, noting that she and some members of her family are not particularly comfortable with the attention that comes with social media.

According to Halima, while some people may enjoy being visible online, she and her siblings prefer to keep their personal lives away from public scrutiny.

She added, “Life was easier before people recognized us. Some are comfortable with social media, but we’re not.”

Despite their preference for privacy, Halima said the family has a significant business ambition ahead of them.

Halima disclosed that the family’s focus is on expanding the company founded by her father, with a long-term goal of reaching a $100 billion valuation.

She said, “Our goal is to build our father’s company to $100 B.”

Her comments have drawn attention to the balance between growing up in one of Nigeria’s most prominent business families and maintaining a private lifestyle.

The remarks also highlight the next generation’s stated interest in continuing to build on their father’s business legacy.
