Father kicks out son and wife out after 16-year-old son allegedly makes ₦35m from ‘Yahoo’

A Nigerian man has shared the story of his neighbour whose 16-year-old son allegedly made over ₦35 million from internet fraud shortly after completing his WAEC.

The story was shared on X by @prince_dc21_, who narrated how the boy’s alleged source of wealth caused a serious disagreement between his parents.

‘He Bought Himself a Spider Car’

According to the post, the boy had just completed his WAEC when he allegedly made over ₦35 million through “Yahoo”, a term commonly used in Nigeria to refer to internet fraud.

“My neighbour’s son, who should be around 16yrs old and had just finished WAEC, allegedly cashed out over #35M from Yahoo.

“He bought himself a Spider car and brought it home,” the post read.

The boy’s father reportedly became suspicious as soon as he saw the expensive car and began questioning his son about where the money came from.

‘It Was From Online Business’

The boy allegedly told his father that the money came from an online business, but his explanation reportedly failed to convince the man.

“Immediately his father saw the car, he started asking questions about where the money came from.

“The boy kept telling him it was from ‘online business’ blah blah blah, but the father already suspected that the money was from fraud,” @prince_dc21_ wrote.

The father reportedly instructed his son to return the car and send the money back to its alleged source.

‘In This Hard Economy?’

The situation reportedly escalated when the boy’s mother intervened and questioned why the family should give up the money and car.

“She asked, ‘Return which car and which money? In this hard economy? We don’t even have a car, so why should we return the one God has blessed us with?’” the post stated.

The disagreement between the couple reportedly became serious, with the father eventually ordering his son to leave the house.

‘If Our Son Is Leaving, I’m Leaving With Him’

The father reportedly told his son to leave after concluding that he was no longer willing to listen to him.

His wife then allegedly declared that she would leave with their son.

“The father eventually told his son to leave the house since he had apparently grown wings and no longer wanted to listen to him.

“His wife immediately said, ‘If our son is leaving, I’m leaving with him.’

“The man simply replied, ‘No wahala. Here’s the door,’” the post read.

The following morning, the woman and her son reportedly packed their belongings and left the house.

‘He Doesn’t Care Anymore’

@ prince_dc21_ further claimed that nobody in the compound had heard from the woman and her son since they left.

“The next morning, both mother and son packed their things and left.

“Since then, nobody in the compound has heard from them.

“And the father? He said he doesn’t care anymore,” he stated.
