Oluremi Tinubu Urges Protection Of Schools, Teachers, Children

First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called for concerted efforts to protect schools, teachers and children from attacks, stressing that education is essential to preserving hope and securing the future.

Tinubu made the call in a message marking the 2026 International Day to Protect Education from Attack, observed on September 9, with the theme, “Education Can Survive Attack.”

The First Lady, who described herself as an educationist, said classrooms are places where children discover their potential, nurture their dreams and build hope for the future.

She warned that attacks on schools, teachers or students threaten not only children’s education but also the future of communities.

“Let us unite in protecting our schools, supporting our teachers, and safeguarding every child’s right to education,” she said.

Tinubu added that protecting education was a collective responsibility, urging stakeholders to ensure that every child could learn in safety and without fear.

“When we protect education, we preserve hope and secure our collective future,” she said.
