The Dangote Refinery Initial Public Offering (IPO) is scheduled to open on Monday, September 14, 2026, giving investors an opportunity to buy into one of Nigeria’s largest private-sector energy projects.
With the offer price fixed at ₦525 per share, prospective investors can subscribe for as few as 10 shares, meaning the minimum investment is ₦5,250.
The proposed offer comprises 4.1 billion ordinary shares and is targeting more than ₦2 trillion from investors.
Here are the steps prospective investors need to take to participate:
1. Open a stockbroker account
Prospective investors must first choose a registered and authorised stockbroker to participate in the offer.
Most stockbrokers allow investors to open accounts online and complete the required Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process.

2. Get a CSCS account
Investors also need a Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) account, where their shares will be held electronically.
A stockbroker will typically assist with opening or linking the CSCS account to the investor’s brokerage account.
3. Complete your verification
Investors must provide the personal information and documents requested by their stockbroker.
The verification process must be completed before the account can be activated for investment.
4. Fund your account
After completing the verification process, investors need to deposit the amount they intend to invest into their brokerage account.
At the minimum subscription level, 10 shares at ₦525 each will cost ₦5,250.
Investors can subscribe for more shares if they have sufficient funds and meet the terms of the offer.
5. Wait for the IPO to open
The Dangote Refinery IPO is scheduled to open on Monday, September 14, 2026.
Investors should check the official offer documents for the final subscription period, terms and approved application channels.
6. Submit your application
Once the offer opens, investors can apply through the approved channels specified in the final offer documents.
They will need to select the number of shares they want to purchase, review their details and submit the application.
7. Wait for your allocation
Applying for shares does not necessarily mean an investor will receive the entire quantity requested.
If the IPO is oversubscribed, investors may receive fewer shares than they applied for.
Successful allocations will be credited electronically to the investor’s CSCS account.
8. Monitor your shares
After the shares are listed on the Nigerian Exchange, investors can monitor their holdings through their stockbrokers.
Depending on their investment strategy and prevailing market conditions, investors can choose to hold or sell their shares.
