“if you allow osuofia, he will talk from now till tomorrow” — Producer Mr Martins Onyemobi on Nkem Owoh

Nollywood producer Mr Martins Onyebuchi Onyemobi has spoken about his experience working with veteran actor Nkem Owoh, popularly known as Osuofia, describing him as an actor who gives his all once he accepts a role.

Onyemobi said the key to getting the best out of Owoh is knowing how to control his improvisational energy while allowing him to bring his creativity to the character.

He said …

“If you give Osuofia a movie script, all you need to do is control him. When you control him, you will get the best out of him. But if you allow him, he will talk from now till tomorrow.

“Once he agrees to do the job, he will give you everything he has. If the movie is supposed to be Part 1 and Part 2, Osuofia will end up giving you Part 1 all the way to Part 7.”

The producer’s comments highlight Owoh’s reputation for his distinctive comic delivery and ability to add his own flair to characters, while also suggesting that his spontaneity can sometimes extend a production beyond what was originally written.

Owoh, one of Nollywood’s veteran comic actors, is widely recognised for his memorable performances, with the nickname “Osuofia” becoming closely associated with his comedic screen persona.
