Nigerians know who Wike is – Ayo Fayose reacts to Face-off between APC govs, FCT Minister

Former governor of Ekiti State and Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency, REA, Board, Ayo Fayose, has reacted to the face-off between the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister, Nyesom Wike, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governors’ Forum.

DAILY POST reports that members of the forum, led by its chairman and governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, had distanced themselves from Wike’s Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State.

In a viral video, Uzodimma, in an indirect attack on the FCT Minister, declared that the APC governors would not support any alliance or political arrangement which, according to him, could undermine the re-election of President Bola Tinubu or weaken the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

A few hours after the remark, the FCT Minister responded during an interview on Arise TV, criticising the governors and describing them as smart but politically lazy.

The minister maintained that he would not help the governors win elections in their respective states, pointing out that the coalition only exists in Rivers State.

Reacting, Fayose, who appeared on Channels TV on Tuesday night, said, “Nigerians know who Wike is and the institution, the Governors’ Forum, and they are both saying different things in different ways.”

According to the former governor, the controversy between Wike and the governors “has nothing to do with the winning of the president”.

“But don’t forget, everybody has his own ego. Every one of us, including myself,” he added.
