When BTO4PBAT27 was formally inaugurated in Ondo State on September 13, 2025, in Akoko North-West Local Government Area, it began as a political support initiative with a clearly defined objective: to mobilise grassroots support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
One year later, the group has evolved into a formidable statewide grassroots structure, establishing its presence across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State, with senatorial, local government and ward coordinators working to deepen support for the Tinubu administration and its Renewed Hope agenda.
The journey from its inaugural event to the completion of a statewide grassroots engagement tour has been marked by political mobilisation, voter sensitisation, community engagement and interventions targeted at people at the grassroots.
At the inaugural ceremony in Akoko North-West, more than 350 beneficiaries received cash support as part of the organisation’s grassroots empowerment initiative. The event brought together political stakeholders, community leaders, supporters and residents, signalling from the outset that BTO4PBAT27 intended to combine political mobilisation with tangible community engagement.
The group’s Director-General, Ogbeni Adojutelegan Adesuyi Gideon, set the tone for the movement’s mission, describing President Tinubu as a leader whose economic reforms and infrastructure initiatives were laying the foundation for a stronger Nigeria.
He also called on eligible citizens, particularly young people who had attained voting age, to participate actively in the voter registration process, stressing the importance of obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards as a means of participating in the democratic process.
The Publicity Secretary of the group, Folajimi Adewumi Gbenga, also used the occasion to highlight the contribution of the Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to the political mobilisation efforts behind President Tinubu’s administration.
FROM INAUGURATION TO STATEWIDE MOBILIZATION
What started with the inauguration of local government coordinators soon expanded into a structured statewide operation.
BTO4PBAT27 subsequently inaugurated its senatorial coordinators and ward coordinators across the three senatorial districts of Ondo State—Ondo South, Ondo North and Ondo Central.
The objective was straightforward: take the message of continuity, development and support for President Tinubu directly to the people rather than limit political engagement to major towns and conventional political gatherings.
The organisation embarked on a tour of the 18 local government areas of Ondo State, interfacing with residents, community stakeholders, political supporters and grassroots coordinators.
Across the communities visited, the message remained consistent: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves continued support beyond 2027 because, according to the group, the reforms and policies of his administration require continuity to achieve their full impact.
The tour also provided an opportunity for BTO4PBAT27 to listen to people at the grassroots, understand their concerns and strengthen the relationship between the political structure and the communities it seeks to mobilise.
In this regard, the statewide tour became more than a political exercise. It provided a platform for direct interaction with communities and for the organisation to demonstrate its commitment to grassroots participation.
POLITICS WITH HUMAN FACE
One of the recurring features of the BTO4PBAT27 statewide engagements has been its grassroots empowerment component.
At several of the organisation’s activities, financial assistance was provided to less privileged residents and community beneficiaries. The intervention was designed to provide immediate succour to people facing economic challenges while reinforcing the group’s belief that political engagement should have a human face.
The philosophy behind the initiative, as repeatedly emphasised by the organisation, is that political mobilisation should not be separated from concern for the welfare of ordinary citizens.
The cash interventions therefore became a notable feature of the group’s activities as it moved from one local government to another.
Beyond direct beneficiaries, BTO4PBAT27 also supported its grassroots coordinators with financial resources to strengthen mobilisation activities in their respective wards and local government areas.
The intention was to empower the coordinators to take the message of President Tinubu’s administration further into communities and maintain sustained grassroots engagement beyond major political events.
SUPPORTING VOTERS REGISTRATION
Another major component of the group’s activities has been voter mobilisation.
During the Continuous Voter Registration exercise, BTO4PBAT27 provided financial support to its local government structures to enable them to mobilise more eligible citizens to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards.
The initiative was premised on the understanding that political support must ultimately be expressed through participation in the electoral process.
For BTO4PBAT27, therefore, the campaign for President Tinubu’s re-election is not simply about political rhetoric. It also involves encouraging citizens to register, obtain their PVCs and participate actively in deciding the leadership of the country.
The group’s coordinators were consequently encouraged to take voter registration awareness to the grassroots, particularly among young Nigerians who had recently attained the voting age of 18.
A structure built around grassroots coordination
The expansion of BTO4PBAT27 across Ondo State has also demonstrated the importance of a coordinated grassroots structure.
With senatorial, local government and ward coordinators established across the state, the organisation has created a network designed to sustain political communication at the community level.
Under the leadership of its Director-General, Ogbeni Adojutelegan Adesuyi Gideon, the structure has continued to coordinate grassroots activities while maintaining the central objective of mobilising support for President Tinubu.
As Publicity Secretary, I have also had the responsibility of communicating the activities, programmes and positions of the organisation to the public, while ensuring that the story of the group’s grassroots engagements receives the necessary visibility.
The past year has therefore been one of organisational expansion, political education, community engagement and mobilisation.
Tunji-Ojo: THE FORCE BEHIND THE STRUCTURE
At the centre of the BTO4PBAT27 story is the contribution of its Grand Patron and principal sponsor, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior.
His role has gone beyond financial sponsorship. His leadership, political guidance and commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration have provided the inspiration and support that have enabled the organisation to build and sustain its statewide operations.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo has emerged as one of the prominent political figures associated with the grassroots mobilisation of support for President Tinubu in Ondo State, and BTO4PBAT27 has positioned itself as part of that broader effort.
His support for the group has made it possible for BTO4PBAT27 to combine political mobilisation with empowerment initiatives, voter sensitisation and community engagement.
For the leadership of BTO4PBAT27, his commitment reflects a broader conviction that the success of the Tinubu administration requires not only policy implementation at the federal level but also strong grassroots communication and mobilisation.
The group also considers the Minister’s support for President Tinubu to be an important demonstration of political loyalty and commitment to the continuity of the Renewed Hope agenda.
Beyond his political activities, Tunji-Ojo’s supporters point to his performance as Minister of Interior and his visibility in national affairs as part of the reasons for his growing influence among young people and grassroots political actors in Ondo State.
For BTO4PBAT27, the Minister represents a bridge between government, political mobilisation and the grassroots—a role the organisation says has been critical to its growth over the past year.
ONE YEAR OF TAKING THE MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE
The first anniversary of BTO4PBAT27 is therefore not merely a celebration of the date the organisation was inaugurated. It is a reflection on a year of sustained grassroots activity.
From Arigidi Akoko to communities across Ondo South, Ondo North and Ondo Central, the organisation has taken its message directly to the people.
Its activities have included the inauguration of political structures, community meetings, voter sensitisation, empowerment interventions, grassroots mobilisation and statewide tours.
The organisation has also consistently promoted the message of “Asiwaju Beyond 2027”, arguing that President Tinubu should be given the opportunity to continue implementing his administration’s programmes and reforms.
For its members, the first year has provided evidence that sustained political organisation cannot be built overnight. It requires structures, committed coordinators, communication, resources and continuous engagement with the people.
LOOKING BEYOND FIRST YEAR ANNIVERSARY
As BTO4PBAT27 marks one year of operation, its leadership says the journey is far from over.
The statewide structures already established are expected to remain active in their respective communities, while the organisation continues to mobilise support for President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The immediate political task, from the group’s perspective, is to translate the relationships built during the statewide tour into sustained grassroots participation and electoral support.
The organisation also intends to continue encouraging eligible citizens to participate in the electoral process and to ensure that its message reaches communities beyond conventional political centres.
One year after its formation, BTO4PBAT27 can therefore look back on a journey that began with a single inauguration in Arigidi Akoko and expanded into a statewide grassroots political network.
Its story is one of political organisation, community engagement, voter mobilisation and empowerment, driven by a stated commitment to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
For the Director-General, Ogbeni Adojutelegan Adesuyi Gideon, and the entire leadership and membership of BTO4PBAT27, the first anniversary is both a celebration of what has been achieved and a renewed call to intensify the work ahead.
And for its Grand Patron, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the anniversary represents yet another milestone in the continuing mobilisation of grassroots support for the Tinubu administration.
As the road to 2027 continues to unfold, BTO4PBAT27 says it remains committed to taking the message of continuity, Renewed Hope and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to every ward, community and local government in Ondo State.
