“Be like say na me go scatter this family last last God abeg” — Lady recounts clash with husband’s cousin

A woman has shared how a seemingly minor exchange with her husband’s younger cousin escalated into a family dispute and left her waking up to 30 missed calls from her in-laws.
The woman, who has been married for over 10 years, said the incident happened during a family function she attended last weekend.
According to her, her husband’s cousin, whom she described as notoriously rude, called her by her first name while asking her to pass seasoning.
She said she did not react immediately but later addressed the younger woman by her first name when asking her to check if the food was ready.
The woman said her cousin-in-law became offended and questioned why she had called her by her name.
Woman explains how the argument escalated
The woman said she reminded her that she had done the same thing earlier.
She further stated, “I have been married for over 10 years. You could have at least called me by my son’s name. You called my name, I did the same and you’re pained.”
According to her, the disagreement became heated, with the younger woman accusing her of being disrespectful despite being eight years older.
The woman said the matter eventually reached the girl’s father, who is the family head, and he called her after she had returned to Lagos.
She said she offered to discuss the matter over the phone but he insisted that it was not a phone matter.
Lady’s response sparks reactions
The woman said she jokingly suggested creating a Zoom meeting instead and sent ₦5,000 airtime before going to sleep.
She later woke up to 30 missed calls from different in-laws.
She ended her account by saying, “Be like say na me go scatter this family last last God abeg“, as the unusual family dispute continued to generate reactions online.
