He commended Shettima’s career in banking and his record of public service to Borno State and Nigeria, particularly his tenure as governor of Borno State before becoming Vice-President.

Tinubu said Shettima had demonstrated “courage, diligence, compassion and an abiding commitment to improving the lives of the people” in both capacities.

The President also acknowledged the Vice-President’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), his support for the administration and his commitment to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“As Chairman of the National Economic Council, Shettima has provided purposeful leadership in coordinating economic policy and fostering collaboration among the Federal Government and the sub-nationals,” he said.

Tinubu further commended Shettima’s respect for constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation, saying these had contributed to strengthening good governance.
