Umahi’s Son, 12 Other APC Candidates Win Ebonyi LG Elections

The son of the Minister of Works, David Umahi, Osbourn Umahi, has been elected the chairman of Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) cleared all the 13 council areas and 171 councillorship seats in the elections adjudged to be peaceful, free and fair.

Also elected as council chairmen are Mrs. Peace Agwu (Ishielu); Paul Ituma (Ohaukwu); Friday Nwuhuo (Ezza North); Chinedu Mkpuma (Ezza South); Chidi Nwode (Ikwo); Timothy Nwachi (Afikpo);-Ikechukwu Ogbofia (Onicha), and Michael Anyim (Ivo).

Others include, Chief Simeon Onuoha (Edda);
Izzi—Mrs Helen Aduga (Izzi); Chidiebere Alo (Abakaliki), and
Chibueze Odigwe (Ebony).

Announcing the results in Abakaliki on Sunday, the Chairman of EBSIEC, Mr. Patrick Enyi noted that other political parties participated in the election.

In an interview, Mr. Osborn Umahi commended the electoral umpire for the conduct of the elections, describing the exercise as transparent and peaceful.

He promised to transform his council through rural development, empowerment and agricultural revolution.

The chairman-elect also disclosed that he would forfeit his salaries and channel them for the development of the council area.
