A group of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters have reportedly brought a live fishing boat to the party’s “Democracy Under Attack” demonstration, attracting attention from bystanders and social media users.
The unusual display formed part of the activities as supporters gathered in Accra to protest what they describe as threats to Ghana’s democratic values.
Images circulating online show the boat being transported through the streets, with some supporters dressed in NPP colours accompanying the vehicle.
The symbolism behind the fishing boat is yet to be officially explained, but it has sparked conversations online as the demonstration continues.
Supporters are expected to proceed with their planned march towards the Jubilee House.
