Ladan Bosso has been appointed interim head coach of the Super Falcons as Nigeria begins preparations for the upcoming Olympic qualifiers.

Bosso is expected to oversee the team until the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) appoints a permanent head coach.

The appointment comes as the Super Falcons seek to strengthen their technical setup ahead of the Olympic qualifying campaign, with qualification identified as a major priority.

Officials said the decision is driven by the need to improve the team’s technical structure before the crucial qualifiers.

“The Olympics are approaching, and we will look at improving the Super Falcons’ technical team, just as we did with the U-23 team under coach Eric Chelle. Our goal is to qualify for the Olympics,” the NFF explained.

Bosso’s immediate task will be to steady the team and improve its performances ahead of the qualifiers.

The Super Falcons have faced criticism over some of their recent displays, increasing the pressure on the interim coach to deliver positive results and restore confidence among Nigerian supporters.

With Olympic qualification as the primary objective, Bosso will be expected to quickly build a competitive squad and ensure the team is adequately prepared for the challenges ahead.

The NFF is expected to continue its search for a permanent coach, while Bosso takes temporary charge of the senior women’s national team.
