Neon Adejo narrates how he got involved in Alicia and David Martin’s Marital issues

Gospel singer Neon Adejo has narrated how he became involved in the marital crisis between Alicia and photographer David Martins, following allegations of abuse in their marriage.

Adejo said the incident began earlier this year when he attended a conference meeting and was approached by Alicia, who told him she had not been doing well in her marriage.

According to him, Alicia became emotional while speaking to him and later disclosed that she had allegedly suffered mental, financial, verbal and emotional abuse from her husband for about three years.

Adejo said he had known David for some time and was shocked by Alicia’s account because it differed from the image of their relationship presented on social media.

He claimed Alicia showed him graphic pictures on her phone which she said documented the alleged abuse, adding that the images were more disturbing than those she had publicly shared.

The singer said Alicia also told him she had been staying with a neighbour in the compound and was struggling to care for herself and her child as a nursing mother.

Adejo said he subsequently asked how he could help and sent her money to purchase items needed by her child, with any remaining funds to be used for her personal needs.

His words in part …

“It all started earlier this year when I came for a conference meeting. After the meeting, people came to greet me as usual. And then, I saw Alicia walked up to me. The first thing she said was, hey Neon, you have not seen my son this year. And so I said, that’s true, I have not see him this year, how is your son? She said oh, he’s fine, he’s with the nanny. The next thing I said was, how about your husband? I have not seen him too, How is he? Then she said, he’s probably busy that’s why he couldn’t make it. So I said no problem, I was about to walk away and she said, there’s something I want to share with you. I looked at her eyes and I saw that she was teary. I knew it was very important. We walked towards my car, my driver was inside the car, and I said ok, what is it that you want to talk about?

It was then she began to narrate to me how she’s been mentally, financially, verbally and emotionally ab%sed by her husband for the last three years. Mind you, I have known David for a while, and it was shocking to me because what I was seeing on social media was not tallying with what she was saying to me at the moment, and so, to further prove what she was saying, she opened her phone, shared with me some gory pictures. These pictures were so bad that I can’t even compare it to what she shared to the public. I don’t think she has shared those pictures before.

When I saw these, I broke down because I just couldn’t make sense of it. It was then I asked her, how have you been surviving? Then she told me she’s been staying with a neighbor in the compound, and that it’s not really been easy for her knowing that she is a nursing mother, she’s been struggling through that process so I was compelled to say, what can we do for you? How can we come in now that we know what’s happening? Then she mentioned that her child would need this, and need that. Immediately, I sent her money to get whatever the child would need for that moment, and if there’s anything left, she can use it to take care of herself….”
