A Nigerian lady has shared her experience of Peter Obi‘s administration as governor of Anambra State, explaining why she intends to vote for him in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she praised the NDC presidential candidate commitment to education, claiming that children caught hawking during school hours were taken to the police station, while their parents were questioned because education was free at the time.

In her words, she said:

“When Peter Obi was governor of Anambra State, if your child was caught hawking during school hours, the child would be taken to the police station. When you came to secure the child’s release, you would be arrested and asked to explain why the child was not in school because education was free.

All the three schools that I attended had buses given to them by Obi. They all had laptops. I remember our teachers going for computer lessons to learn how to use computers. Education was high.”

She said the investments made in education improved learning, adding that the schools she attended benefited from buses, laptops and better access to technology.

The lady maintained that Obi’s focus on education convinced her that he prioritised the future of children, which is why she believes he deserves her support.

“So yes, I’ll be voting Obi as the president of Nigeria because I know my future may no longer be guaranteed, but the future of our children in his hands is very safe,” she added.

Her remarks have since generated mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians debating her claims and sharing their opinions ahead of the 2027 general election.
