Kumuyi urges peace, security as crusade returns to Ogun

As the Global Crusade with Kumuyi returns to Ogun State, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has called for peace, security, and progress in Nigeria.

Kumuyi made this statement during his visit to the traditional ruler of Ota, Prof Abdulkabir Obalanlege, on Tuesday.

The visit was in anticipation of the crusade that is set to begin on Wednesday at the Anglican Grammar School in Ota, Ogun State.

Responding to questions from journalists on the security situation in the country, the cleric said peace and security remained the desire of every Nigerian, adding that prayers would continue for God’s intervention in the affairs of the nation.

“As for what is our desire for our country, what is the desire of everyone, every citizen? One: peace, security and progress in our land. We are praying, and He knows how to answer that prayer and how to give us all the security we need in the land,” Kumuyi noted.

On the choice of Ota, the international evangelist remarked, “The Lord laid it on our hearts that this is the time for Ogun State. This is Ogun State’s time.”

He was optimistic that the crusade would bring transformation, salvation, healing and solutions to challenges confronting individuals and families.

According to the cleric, the outreach had reached many states, including Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Oyo, Ondo, Kaduna, Sokoto, among others.

Kumuyi added that the GCK had also been held in different countries, such as the Benin Republic, Togo, Cameroon, Zambia, as well as India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand.

He also announced that ahead of the crusade, free medical services would be available as part of the outreach in Ota.

He disclosed that medical teams comprising doctors, nurses and specialist experts would provide treatment, conduct surgical procedures, including eye surgeries, and offer medicines free of charge.

“The medical team has doctors and nurses and specialist experts, and they go before us, before the GCK, and they touch many lives.

“They perform operations, they do eye operations and other surgical procedures, and will provide all the medicine and everything that you need,” he said.

In his remarks, the Olota of Ota, Prof Obalanlege, expressed optimism that the visit of Kumuyi and his wife, along with the South-West State Overseers and their wives, to the ancient town would bring spiritual transformation and promote peace in the community.

The traditional ruler stated that he was delighted by their presence in Ota, noting that the anticipated transformation of lives would have a positive impact on the peace and development of the town.

“I am happy because I believe the Lord is with us here in Ota land, and I believe a lot of lives will be transformed,” the monarch stated.

He believed that the transformation of individuals will help create a more peaceful community.
