Hamid Kanyiti Salifu Celebrates PhD Achievement With Powerful Message on Humility

Hamid Kanyiti Salifu has earned a PhD in Public Administration from GIMPA and shared an inspiring message on humility after the graduation ceremony.

Hamid Kanyiti Salifu, a close associate of Ghana’s Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

Salifu joined the PhD Class of 2026 during GIMPA’s 56th graduation ceremony, marking the successful completion of years of academic research, hard work, and commitment.

Following the graduation ceremony, Salifu thanked his family, friends, colleagues, and well wishers for standing by him throughout his academic journey and for celebrating his achievement.

“I want to thank everybody for the wonderful congratulatory messages. I am very grateful,” he said.

Graduation Brings Lesson in Humility

Beyond receiving his doctoral degree, Salifu said one moment from the ceremony stood out and reminded him of the importance of humility and the uncertainty of life’s journey.

He pointed to a photograph taken with Prof Ing Felix Kofi Abagale, someone he first met during their time at Ghana Secondary School. According to Salifu, Prof Abagale was a junior student then and often carried out errands for senior students.

“This picture among all the pictures speaks so loudly and most of us should be guided by it and be humble,” he stated.

School Memories Come Full Circle

Salifu recalled that during their days at Ghana Secondary School, Prof Abagale regularly assisted senior students and they also looked out for him whenever necessary.

Years later, their roles had changed. At GIMPA’s graduation ceremony, Prof Abagale served as Chairman of the occasion and Acting Chairman of the Governing Council of GIMPA. He also played a key role in constituting the assembly that officially conferred Salifu’s doctoral degree.

“This is a boy who collected food for me, washed for me and we sent him around. As usual fought his battles as our Jnr in Ghana Secondary School. Today at my graduation ceremony, he was the Chairman of the occasion and also the acting Chairman of the governing councel of the institute and he had to constitute the assembly for me to graduate.

“Indeed, who knows tomorrow”.

Salifu’s reflections highlighted how life can take unexpected turns and served as a reminder that humility remains important regardless of one’s position or achievements.
