Family postpones Tope Osoba’s burial after candlelight ceremony, announces next step

The family of late Nollywood actress Tope Osoba has postponed her burial ceremony until further notice, weeks after her death sparked questions among colleagues and fans.
In a statement, the family said the decision was taken to allow for further arrangements and the conclusion of necessary matters surrounding the burial.
The family also appealed to friends, colleagues, fans and well-wishers for their understanding, prayers and continued support during the difficult period.
Why Tope Osoba’s burial was postponed
The family said the postponement followed the candlelight and Artist’s Night held in honour of the late actress.
It added that the new burial date and venue would be officially announced once the necessary matters had been resolved.
The family further expressed appreciation to everyone who attended the tribute events and continued to support them following Osoba’s death.
At the candlelight service, actress Foluke Daramola also addressed speculation surrounding Tope Osoba’s cause of death.
Daramola said the late actress did not die from breast cancer, explaining that the lump reportedly associated with the illness had been removed.

According to Daramola, Tope Osoba’s death was caused by something different, while an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is ongoing.
The development has added to public interest in the late actress’s death as fans and colleagues await further information from her family.
