Emulate Prophet Muhammad’s exemplary life, Kano gov urges Muslims at Maulud

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has urged Muslims to emulate the exemplary life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by promoting peace, justice, compassion, honesty and tolerance in their daily lives.
Yusuf made the call in a Maulud message to Muslims across Kano State and Nigeria to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa.
The governor urged the Muslim faithful to use the occasion to reflect on the life and teachings of the Prophet, particularly his commitment to peaceful coexistence, justice and compassion.
“Maulud is an opportunity for Muslims to reflect on the exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and translate his virtues of peace, justice, compassion, honesty, patience and tolerance into our daily conduct,” Yusuf said.
He urged Muslims to promote unity, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among people of different backgrounds, stressing that the teachings of the Prophet remained relevant to contemporary society.
Yusuf also called on parents, religious leaders and community elders to intensify efforts to educate younger generations on the teachings, character and conduct of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
“Parents, religious leaders and community elders have a responsibility to guide our young people by teaching them the values and exemplary conduct of the Prophet,” he said.
The governor prayed for continued peace, stability and prosperity in Kano State and Nigeria, urging residents to support government efforts aimed at improving their wellbeing.
Yusuf also used the occasion to pray for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, wishing them a successful first term and a peaceful re-election in 2027.
He said, “I pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his amiable Vice President, Kashim Shettima, for a successful tenure and a hitch-free re-election in 2027.”
The governor wished Muslims across the state and the country a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Maulud celebration, urging them to pray for peace, progress and unity in Nigeria.
