BBNaija’s Sheggz Breaks Silence On Breakup…

Big Brother Naija star, Sheggz, has broken his silence on his highly publicised breakup with his former partner, Bella Okagbue, insisting that he never cheated on her.

Sheggz, in a lengthy statement shared on Wednesday, said he has remained silent about his relationship because of his respect for his family and his personal nature.

However, he said he decided to speak out after four years of working to build his reputation, noting that he could no longer allow his name and character to be unfairly tarnished.

The reality TV star stated that he values family, friendship, integrity and his faith, while strongly denying allegations that he was abusive or unfaithful during his relationship with Bella.

“For clarity, I did not cheat on Bella and I have been single since January 2026,” he said.

According to Sheggz, 2025 was an extremely difficult period for him as he spent considerable time in and out of hospital.

He said that after receiving treatment and recovering in England, he returned to Nigeria in October 2025, where he became aware of information that made him question the level of honesty in his relationship.

Sheggz said he has given Bella several opportunities since 2024, for the truth to be disclosed but claimed that this did not happen.

He acknowledged that the situation was particularly difficult because he loved Bella deeply and had genuinely hoped they would spend their lives together.

“I also struggled with how the situation was handled and, at times, I felt there was not the level of remorse or understanding I had hoped for,” he said.

Sheggz disclosed that the relationship eventually ended in January 2026, adding that they made attempts to reconcile afterwards.

However, he said he eventually concluded that there were issues of trust and respect he could not overlook, particularly when considering marriage.

He stressed that marriage, in his view, should be built on mutual respect, honesty and effective communication.

The reality star further revealed that he had been serious about taking the relationship to the next level, saying he even purchased a ring because he believed in the possibility of a future with Bella.

“I genuinely wanted the relationship to work. I even went as far as purchasing a ring because I believed in the possibility of a future together,” he said.

Sheggz acknowledged that Bella’s family might have their own perspective on the circumstances surrounding the breakup, saying he respected their feelings.

He maintained, however, that he had sincerely and repeatedly tried to make the relationship work.

The BBNaija star said he had no interest in engaging in a public fight or trading accusations with Bella, stressing that he wanted to move forward peacefully and with dignity.

“I have no desire for hostility or public back-and-forth. I simply want to move forward peacefully with dignity and respect for everyone involved,” he said.

Sheggz wished Bella the best and expressed hope that everyone involved would eventually move on with grace.
