Bako Hails Tinubu For Peaceful Transition In Nigerian Football

Former Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission, Dr Danladi Bako, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ensuring a peaceful transition and promoting reforms in Nigeria’s football administration.

Bako said Tinubu had discreetly intervened to prevent rancour within the country’s football ecosystem while creating what he described as a “Renewed Hope” for the sport.

In a statement titled “Thank You, President Tinubu”, Bako said the President’s directive for enduring reforms would help strengthen the administration of football and promote its sustainable development.

He urged stakeholders to give adequate attention to grassroots and age-group football, as well as the senior national teams, to improve the quality and future prospects of the sport.

Bako said: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has, in a very mature and discreet way, ensured a peaceful and rancour-free transition within the football ecosystem in Nigeria..

“Without overt control, he ensured that there is now a ‘Renewed Hope’ for football in the country.”

He added: “More importantly, he has directed that proper and enduring reforms must be entrenched in the running of the football superstructure of the country, while ensuring that the organic growth of grassroots football, age-group football and the senior national teams are given the necessary and adequate attention for their quality development.”

Bako concluded by thanking the President for his intervention and commitment to the development of Nigerian football.
