Badejo-Okusanya Officially Assumes Office As 33rd NBA President
Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya has formally assumed office as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), taking over the leadership of Nigeria’s umbrella body for legal practitioners.
Badejo-Okusanya was inaugurated on Friday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, at a ceremony attended by senior lawyers, members of the legal profession and other dignitaries.
She succeeds Afam Osigwe, SAN, whose tenure as President of the Nigerian Bar Association has come to an end.
As part of the formal transition of leadership, Osigwe administered the oath of office to Badejo-Okusanya before handing over the affairs of the association to her.

The outgoing NBA president also presented his successor with a handover note containing information intended to guide her as she begins her tenure.
Addressing the new NBA president during the handover, Osigwe said the document was an initial transition note, adding that a more comprehensive handover document would be presented to her subsequently.
“This is your handover note. A more comprehensive one will be given to you later,” Osigwe said.
Badejo-Okusanya’s emergence as the 33rd President of the NBA marks the beginning of a new chapter for the association as she takes responsibility for leading the body of lawyers and addressing issues affecting the legal profession in Nigeria.
