“Your boyfriend shouldn’t pay you after sex unless you’re a prostitute” – Woman sparks debate

A Nigerian woman has stirred debate online after arguing that women should not expect to be paid or rewarded by their husbands or boyfriends after having sex.

Speaking in a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she maintained that intimacy in a relationship should be a mutual expression of love and affection rather than a transaction that requires financial compensation.

According to her, both partners enjoy the experience, making it unfair for one person to demand money or gifts afterwards.

In her words, she said:

“As a woman, having sex with your husband or boyfriend doesn’t mean you’re doing him a favour. It is two people who love each other coming together to enjoy themselves.”

The woman insisted that requesting money after intimacy only makes sense in a commercial relationship, arguing that it should not happen between romantic partners.

She further questioned why some women expect financial rewards from their partners simply because they had sex.

“Your man shouldn’t pay you for that or buy you gifts because you slept with him. Did you not sleep with him too? If you want him to pay you, then you should also pay him because you enjoyed it too. Stop listening to frustrated people,” she added.

Her remarks have generated mixed reactions online, with some agreeing that intimacy should never be transactional, while others argued that gifts and financial support can simply be expressions of love rather than payment for sex.
