Flytime Group, the Nigerian entertainment company co-founded by Cecil Hammond, has officially entered the global sports arena with the launch of Team PRONC, a new racing outfit set to compete in the 2027 UIM E1 World Championship presented by PIF, the world’s first all-electric raceboat championship.

The announcement places Team PRONC among a prestigious lineup of teams backed by internationally renowned sports and entertainment personalities, including LeBron James, Tom Brady, Rafael Nadal, Will Smith, Virat Kohli and Didier Drogba.

Team PRONC is scheduled to make its competitive debut in the 2027 season. The team was co-founded by Cecil Hammond, Richie Shittu, Preye Berezi, Osahon Okunbo and Ndy Oruche.

According to the founders, the initiative aims to spotlight Nigeria’s creativity, ambition, entrepreneurship, hospitality and culture while celebrating Africa’s growing influence across sports, entertainment and innovation.

Speaking on the project, Hammond described Team PRONC as more than just a motorsport venture.

“Team PRONC represents what can happen when ambitious people come together around a shared vision. This is bigger than motorsport. It’s an opportunity to showcase African innovation, creativity and excellence on one of the world’s biggest sporting platforms while creating something future generations can be proud of,” he said.

The UIM E1 World Championship is the first international all-electric powerboat racing series, featuring teams from different countries with a strong focus on sustainability, cutting-edge technology and marine conservation. The championship has attracted investment from prominent figures in sports, music and business.

For more than 20 years, Flytime Group has been a major force in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, producing over 100 live events attended by more than 500,000 people. The company has hosted performances from more than 400 artists, including Burna Boy, Asake, Ayra Starr, Rema, Tyla, Central Cee and Megan Thee Stallion.

The launch of Team PRONC marks Flytime’s first venture into sports ownership and its debut in an international motorsport competition. More information about the team’s raceboat, technical partners and the 2027 race calendar is expected to be unveiled ahead of the championship season.
