NPFL: Rivers United responds to sanction over broadcast blockage

The club confirmed receipt of the decision regarding the incident in a statement issued by media director Charles Mayuku.
Rivers United said all actions taken were preceded by engagements aimed at ensuring orderly conduct of the match and protecting stakeholders’ interests.
The Pride of Rivers said it remains committed to professionalism and will continue to uphold the league’s regulatory, commercial and broadcasting frameworks.
DAILY POST recalls that Rivers United received a suspended fine of N15 million and a three-point and three-goal deduction for obstructing the live broadcast of their home fixture against Rangers on Sunday.
The fine and the sporting sanctions will only be activated if Rivers United commit a similar offence again during the ongoing season.
