Terror Alert: Jol & Kwi of Plateau State

Security agencies in Jos South, Plateau State have placed the towns of Jol (9°33’9.16″N, 8°48’19.75″E) and Kwi (9°37’28.87″N 8°50’4.87″E) and surrounding hamlets on high alert for possible terror attacks by the Fulani Ethnic Militia (FEM) as a result of escalating tensions in the area over the last week.
Security agencies are investigating the alleged killing of two civilians in the Fulani-dominated town of Fass, as well as the killing of cows belonging to Fulani in the Kwi area. These combined incidents have incentivized FEM operatives to prepare for heavy retaliation attacks on civilian populations. Local leaders have called for the arrest of criminals whose actions they warn serve only to provoke FEM to target innocent men, women and children. Residents in Jol and Kwi are advised to:
Notify relevant security authorities and community leaders immediately upon sighting suspected terrorists, and take protective action.
Review emergency contacts and arrangements for moving vulnerable residents to safety if authorities advise.
Circulate this information responsibly as an unverified warning; avoid speculation or attributing responsibility to entire communities.
Further updates should follow as corroborating information becomes available.
