NPFL suspends Kun Khalifat media officer for five matches

The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has suspended Kun Khalifat FC media officer, Saviola Godwin Otu, for five matches over an unprofessional publication and failure to honour the league’s invitation.
Otu was also fined N200,000 by the league.
The sanction followed a video posted on X showing a post-match incident involving an injured coach, accompanied by a statement after Kun Khalifat’s Matchday Nine fixture against Doma United.
The NPFL said the publication and circulation of graphic content was inappropriate and inconsistent with the professionalism expected of a club media officer.
It added that the post portrayed the league in a negative light and had the potential to undermine public confidence in the competition and cause tension among clubs and supporters.
The league also cited Otu’s failure to honour its invitation to address the matter, describing it as a serious issue warranting disciplinary action.
