Kwankwaso Commends Tinubu Over New Military Battalion, Artillery Regiment In Kano

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has commended President Bola Tinubu over the establishment of a new army battalion and an artillery regiment in Kano State to strengthen security operations and tackle banditry and other criminal activities.
The newly established military formations are the 24 Battalion, located in Tudun Wada, and the 311 Artillery Regiment, situated in Dambatta. They are expected to strengthen military operations in Kano and neighbouring states.
Kwankwaso, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, described the development as a timely intervention by the Federal Government to address emerging security challenges and protect residents.
In a statement made available to journalists on Saturday, he said the deployment would improve the confidence of Kano residents in the government’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
He also praised the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf; Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa; and Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, for their contributions towards strengthening security in the state.
According to him, the strategic locations of the new military formations would improve the ability of security agencies to respond quickly to banditry, terrorism and other violent crimes affecting communities in Kano and neighbouring states.
Kwankwaso said President Tinubu had demonstrated concern for the safety of Kano residents through the establishment of the military facilities.
He stated that the decision showed the Federal Government’s readiness to take concrete steps towards addressing security threats in the state.
He further noted that Kano’s large population and economic importance made it necessary to establish a strong security structure capable of responding effectively to emerging threats.
The APC chieftain added that the new military formations would complement existing security arrangements and provide additional protection for communities across the state.
He expressed confidence that the deployment would contribute to ongoing efforts to contain criminal activities and improve security in affected areas.
Kwankwaso also appealed to residents of Tudun Wada, Dambatta and other communities to cooperate with military personnel and provide useful information to security agencies.
He stressed that the support and cooperation of local communities would be essential to the success of the new military formations and the broader fight against insecurity.
