2027: Peter Obi is just trader, has nothing new to offer – Oshiomhole

Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole has called Peter Obi a candidate with nothing new to offer Nigerians ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Oshiomhole said the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, flag bearer has failed to present a different plan from what President Bola Tinubu is already doing.
The former Edo State governor spoke on Thursday on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
He described Obi as a businessman in politics, saying his style of leadership was built around quick profit and not lasting national growth.
“Peter Obi has not offered any alternative. I think it’s you or someone else who asked him about security: ‘What will you do differently?’ He said it is in his heart.
“I have always said that Peter Obi is a trader. The logic of a trader is short-term turnover,” Oshiomhole said.
In his view, Tinubu thinks like a statesman who plans for future generations, while Obi thinks like a trader who is only concerned about the next sale.
Oshiomhole then threw a challenge to Obi’s followers to point to a single policy their candidate would reverse if he wins in 2027.
He asked if Obi would cancel the student loan programme brought in by Tinubu. He also asked if Obi would return Nigeria to the era of multiple exchange rates, a system the Tinubu government scrapped when it merged the rates into one.
