President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to visit Akwa Ibom State on Friday before travelling to Rivers State on Saturday to attend an All Progressives Congress (APC) political rally as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.

The two-state visit will begin on November 6, when the President is scheduled to arrive in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, to inaugurate several projects completed by Governor Umo Eno’s administration.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, Tinubu will commission several major infrastructure projects during his visit to Akwa Ibom, including the new International Terminal Building, International Airport Hospital and Ibom Aviation Village, all located at Victor Attah International Airport.

Other projects scheduled for inauguration include the Airport-Okopedi Road, which connects communities in Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, as well as Ring Road 3, linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.

The President is also expected to inaugurate the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.

Ahead of the presidential visit, Governor Umo Eno has declared Friday a work-free day across Akwa Ibom State to enable residents to participate in welcoming the President.

The statement explained that the arrangement was intended to give Tinubu a warm reception during his visit to the state.

After completing his engagements in Akwa Ibom, the President will travel to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday, November 7, to participate in an APC political rally.

The Rivers rally is expected to be another major event in the ruling party’s political mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.

It will also mark the third political gathering attended by Tinubu since he officially flagged off his re-election campaign in Kaduna State last month.

The Presidency said the visits would provide the President with opportunities to interact with political leaders, party stakeholders, members and supporters in both states.

It added that the engagements would also focus on promoting political unity, stability and a shared commitment to national development.

Tinubu’s visits to Akwa Ibom and Rivers come as the APC intensifies efforts to strengthen its political structures and mobilise support across the country ahead of the next general election.
