Zulkifilu Yahuza inducted as ambassador of peace

Architect, youth advocate and political figure, Zulkifilu Yahuza, has been inducted as an ambassador of peace following a diplomatic recognition honour conferred by multiple international institutions.

The recognition marks another milestone in Yahuza’s public service and advocacy career, with the honour acknowledging his contributions to peace advocacy, diplomacy and humanitarian service.

Among the institutions listed were Northern International University, Asian University College, Mahatma Gandhi University, Australian International Arts and Science University, European Institute of Policy Research, Global Institute of Peace Education, Alliance of the People of the World, Chosen Book of World Records, World Human Rights & Peace Commission and Notable Book of World Records.

Yahuza, who holds the traditional title “Garkuwan Matasa”, meaning “Defender of the Youth”, said the title, which was conferred by the Emir of Gusau, represented a responsibility to continue advocating for the wellbeing and future of young Nigerians.

Beyond his advocacy work, Yahuza is the founder of Hoopoe Architects Limited and is leading the development of Hoopoe Residence in Idu, Abuja.

Speaking on his approach to real estate, he said, “For me, real estate is not simply about constructing buildings; it is about creating communities where people can live, work and build their future with dignity.”

A member of the Nigerian Institute of Architects and the Green Building Council of Nigeria, and registered with the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria, Yahuza has advocated sustainable communities that incorporate infrastructure, transportation, energy efficiency, water management, security and quality of life.

His youth advocacy focuses on mentorship, financial assistance and platforms for youth leadership engagement. He argued that the bigger challenge facing young Nigerians was not only unemployment but also the risk of losing confidence in the country.

“Our young people do not need sympathy alone; they need skills, opportunities, access to capital and an economy that allows them to succeed,” he said.

Yahuza has also promoted civic participation through what he describes as the “Power of One Vote”, advocating continued citizen engagement beyond elections to demand accountability.

On youth participation in politics, he said, “Young Nigerians must begin building their own leadership platforms, movements, institutions and ideas,” while also learning from existing structures.

He currently serves as ADC Rise Up Naija Coordinator for Zamfara State and has previously aspired to become ADC National Youth Leader. He has also served as a National Ambassador of the Social Democratic Party.

According to him, if given the opportunity to advise Nigeria’s leadership, he would prioritise job creation, education and human capital development, as well as security and good governance.

“Leadership is not defined by the title you carry, but by the positive difference you make in the lives of the people,” he said.
