Zamfara Police Honours Fallen Heroes With ₦12.15m Insurance Payout

Families of police officers who died in the line of duty in Zamfara State are to receive ₦12.15 million in Group Life Assurance benefits from the Nigeria Police Force.

The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Muhammad Bello, presented 27 cheques totalling ₦12,150,868.33 to families and next of kin of deceased officers, as well as injured personnel.

The payment reflects the police authorities’ continued effort to support the families of officers who paid the ultimate price while protecting lives and property.

Presenting the cheques, Bello commiserated with the families of the deceased officers and praised police personnel for their courage and sacrifice in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.

He said, “The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to the welfare of our personnel, injured officers and the families of those who lost their lives in active service.”

The commissioner also assured injured officers of the command’s continued support, while urging the beneficiaries to use the funds judiciously and invest them in ways that would secure the future of their families and dependants.

Bello conveyed the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police and the police force to sustaining welfare programmes designed to cushion the impact of loss and injury suffered by personnel in the course of duty.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Shinku Samson Aondoyila expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and Bello for the assistance.

Aondoyila described the payment as timely and impactful, saying it would provide meaningful support to the beneficiaries and their families.
