High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo and Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, has received the prestigious “Guardian of the Nation” Award at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) in Dallas, Texas, United States.

The honour recognises Tompolo’s contributions to the protection of Nigeria’s critical national assets, the fight against crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism, and efforts to promote peace, security and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.

AFRIMMA, in recognising Tompolo, highlighted his role in safeguarding strategic national infrastructure as well as his wider contributions to communities through peace-building, empowerment, employment generation and development initiatives.

Through Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Tompolo has emerged as a prominent figure in efforts to protect Nigeria’s petroleum infrastructure and curb activities that threaten the country’s oil and gas sector.

His involvement has extended beyond security operations, with his influence in the Niger Delta also linked to community engagement, stability and the creation of opportunities for residents across the region.

The Guardian of the Nation Award reflects AFRIMMA’s recognition of individuals whose contributions demonstrate a strong commitment to the protection, progress and development of Nigeria.
