VIDEO: I Will Be President Of This Country – Natasha Idibia Declares

Natasha Osawaru Idibia, wife of Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has declared that she will become President of Nigeria.
The Edo State lawmaker made the declaration while celebrating her grandfather, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, who recently marked his 92nd birthday in Benin City, Edo State.
In an emotional message to the former Esama of Benin, Natasha expressed her affection for him and said she wanted to make him proud by attaining the country’s highest political office.
Addressing her grandfather, she said, “You are amazing. You are like my baby right now. I love you so much.”
She continued, “As you age, you become sweeter and better. It’s so amazing to be around you, Grandpa. And sometimes I feel like crying.”
The lawmaker then told Igbinedion that she was determined to become Nigeria’s president while he was still alive.
“But I promise you that I’ll be the president of this country before you know it,” she said. “And I’ll make you very, very proud.”
Natasha also promised to continue improving herself and working to make her grandfather proud, while expressing hope that his life would be preserved for many more years.
“And I promise to do better and better by you every day. I promise, Grandpa,” she said.
“Today shall be one of the days of your best moment. That means there’s still a year to come.”
“Grandpa, you will need no special grace because of Him you have. And God will protect you from it because I cannot live without you,” she said.
“May God bless you, my Grandpa. I love you so much.”
Natasha represents Egor Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly and currently serves as the Minority Leader.
She emerged as minority leader in August after a reshuffling of the Assembly’s principal leadership positions. Her emergence followed her defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to the National Democratic Congress in May 2026.
Before becoming minority leader, Natasha served as Deputy Majority Leader of the Assembly.
Reacting to her emergence, the lawmaker described the position as a responsibility rather than a personal achievement.
“This new responsibility is not a title; it is a trust. Our democracy thrives on rigorous debate, accountability, and the courage to advocate for the ordinary citizen without compromise.”
The NDC became the main opposition party in the Edo Assembly after three lawmakers left the APC and PDP for the party.
The party formally notified the Assembly of the defections in a letter addressed to the Speaker, Blessing Agbebaku.
The letter requested that the lawmakers be recognised under the NDC and also nominated Osawaru as Minority Leader.
However, the request did not immediately take effect.
During the June 22, 2026 sitting, lawmakers raised concerns over the procedure adopted by the NDC in communicating the changes.
The Majority Leader, Jonathan Ibhamawu, argued that the affected lawmakers were expected to formally announce their defections on the floor of the House before the new party could communicate the changes.
Speaker Agbebaku consequently stepped down the request pending compliance with the required procedure.
