Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay to undergo heart surgery

Napoli have confirmed that Scott McTominay is set to undergo corrective heart surgery.
The 29-year-old has developed a heart condition known as mild, benign arrhythmia.
According to medical experts, the condition is an irregular heart rhythm that is not life-threatening, and could be resolved after the corrective procedure.
“Following the onset of a mild benign arrhythmia, Scott McTominay will undergo corrective surgery using a cardiac arrhythmia ablation (PFA) in the coming days,” Napoli’s statement read.
“He will be available again after the international break.”
According to the British Heart Foundation, the PFA procedure that McTominay will undergo will see heat or cold energy used to create tiny scars in the heart to block faulty signals and restore a typical heartbeat.
