Hired Lagos Crowd Calls Out APC Over ₦1,500 Payment After a Hard Day’s Job Dancing and Campaigning for Party

A group of people seen wearing All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign T-shirts have expressed anger in a video circulating on social media over an alleged ₦1,500 payment for participating in a campaign event.
The video, which has generated reactions online, shows some individuals complaining about the amount they allegedly received after spending several hours dancing, mobilising and participating in political activities.
Some of the individuals were seen holding naira notes while expressing disappointment over what they described as inadequate payment for the day’s activities.
A social media user who shared the video claimed that the individuals were hired to attend and participate in an APC campaign event and were paid ₦1,500 each.
However, the circumstances surrounding the video, including the location of the event and the identities of those involved, could not be independently verified at the time of filing this report.
The video has attracted criticism and mixed reactions on social media, with some users questioning the use of paid supporters and crowds during political rallies and campaign activities.

Political parties and candidates in Nigeria have frequently faced allegations of paying individuals to attend rallies, mobilise supporters or participate in campaign events.
The latest video has also renewed discussions about the impact of economic hardship on political mobilisation, with critics arguing that financially vulnerable citizens can be easily influenced by small financial incentives.
The APC had not publicly responded to the allegations surrounding the video at the time of filing this report.
